Now THAT’S Theatre
Who says going to the theatre is boring? At a recent Broadway performance of Neil LaBute’s “Reasons to be Pretty,” a verbal tirade by one of the female characters (played by Marin Ireland) detailing the faults of her ex-boyfriend elicited a very strong reaction from one of the male audience members. Said audience member, in an unplanned spectacle, apparently stood up, called the actress a bitch (twice), shouted a few other choice expletives, and rushed out of the theater.
Now that’s a powerful performance. Tony Award for Ireland, anyone?
